REGISTER for the Hoopla STEM Challenge:
Know a student who is interested in basketball or a student with an interest in science, technology, engineering or math? Does the student want to be part of tipping-off the Madness in the Dayton Region each March?
If so, the Hoopla STEM Challenge is just what he or she looking for! The event is an exciting and free, hot-shot basketball competition for all youth basketball fans packed with family-friendly science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) exhibits designed to engage students of all ages.
The annual event held less than two miles from America’s #1 Host Site on Selection Sunday! Before the tournament field is announced and before you start filling out a bracket, come and join us! Shoot some hoops and experience a variety of hands-on exhibits from leading regional and national partners.
In its third year the 2014 Hoopla STEM Challenge welcomed over 400 participants and drew a crowd that exceeded well over one thousand fans. Former Dayton Flyer Basketball Players and Rudy Flyer signed autographs and the event was kicked off with keynote speakers representing the Dayton Flyers Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff and the United States Air Force!
The FREE event is open to all boys and girls (kindergarten through eighth grade).
We encourage you to bring the entire family and the kids can participate in the free event with prizes are awarded for basketball skills and educational engagement! Since 2012, the Hoopla STEM Challenge has awarded over $25,000 in prizes including pizza, t-shirts, tournament tickets, iTunes gift cards and multiple GRAND PRIZES each year; iPad minis!
