The Organization Is One of Three Finalists for the Community Supporter of the Year Award
DAYTON – The Big Hoopla, Inc. is pleased to announce that the organization has been selected as an honoree for the Community Supporter of the Year Award at the 2023 Dayton Business Journal. CareSource and Montgomery County ADAMHS were also selected as honorees in the category, and the winner of the award will be announced on Thursday, November 9 at the Schuster Center in downtown Dayton.
“The Big Hoopa is tremendously honored to be nominated for the DBJ Community Supporter of the Year Award, especially alongside two organizations that are doing such good work in the community,” said Terry Slaybaugh, Volunteer Chair of The Big Hoopla Local Organizing Committee (LOC). “Being a finalist in this category is particularly special because it speaks to a part of The Big Hoopla’s mission: putting a spotlight on the Dayton region.”
The Business of the Year Awards, hosted by the Dayton Business Journal, has celebrated the region’s best in business for over 20 years. The winner of the Community Supporter of the Year Award—as well as the overall Business of the Year winner—will be selected by the DBJ Editorial Board and guest judges Whitney Barkley, director of the Greater West Dayton Incubator; Jessica Jones, president and CEO of Universal 1 Credit Union; and Rod Sommer, CEO of LJB Inc.
“Part of our Hoopla Mission is to support this region’s military, so being selected as a finalist tells that story,” said Sarah Spees, Director of The Big Hoopla. “It showcases that the volunteers on the LOC are passionate about supporting the Dayton community. We’re thrilled!”
