The Big Hoopla is grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who donate their time and contribute to the success of the Big Hoopla events each year. The success of the past and the possibilities of the future would not be possible without the generosity of our Hoopla Volunteers.
Although the local organizing committee is thankful for the number of volunteers who support the events on an annual basis, there are always opportunities to scale the Hoopla Events and expand the reach of the Big Hoopla.
Volunteer opportunities exist in two key functional areas:
– Hoopla Welcoming Committee
– Hoopla Event Ambassadors
The Big Hoopla is a series of events that span several days and the need for volunteers is great. Our volunteers show each and every basketball fan and visitor what a great region we have and continue the tradition that makes the Dayton region synonymous with the tournament.
All interested volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and have the necessary means of transportation to arrive to the designated shift(s) on time. Each volunteer will be provided with Hoopla apparel for their services during the event(s).
Once a volunteer has contacted The Big Hoopla they will receive the necessary schedule request and waiver forms, listing available dates and times. Preliminary schedules will be sent to all participants approximately one week before the scheduled event(s).
